Miles Mossop
Miles Mossop got an early introduction to the wine world as the son of the late Tony Mossop, prominent wine writer and local South African industry luminary. The talented young Mossop, who also works as the winemaker at TOKARA, launched his eponymous label in 2004. His boutique production consists of two bottlings: Saskia, a 200 case Chenin Blanc-Viognier blend named for his daughter; and Max, a 500 case Bordeaux blend named for his son. Miles crafts wines the old-fashioned, minimalist way. His winemaking philosophy is simple: Source grapes from exceptional vineyards, pick them at the optimum time, and guide them through their natural processes.

Wine can clear the vapors of despair and make us light as air.
